Happy Veteran's Day

Brian brings up an interesting point again this year. He wonders why it is that his company gives him the day off for Martin Luther King Day, but not for Veteran's Day.

Happy Veteran's Day to all veterans, in particular those from the 1-7 Cavalry Division. The same as General Custer and the unit portrayed in the movie We Were Soldiers. Garry Owen!

I'll be honest - the happiest day of my life was not my wedding day or the births of my children. It was the day Brian took that uniform off for the last time. I didn't mind living in a military post in a different time zone than our families, or the Texas heat compared to Ohio's climate, or the 16 hour work days the Army offers. It was the constant fear in a post Sept 11 world of orders coming down to deploy to a warzone.
