Miss Katie Grace has been out of diapers since Good Friday!! She is doing really well with her potty training and hasn't had any accidents, even through the occasional naps she takes. I am still not brave enough for her to go diaperless overnight, but she is waking up dry most mornings, so I am sure nighttime training is just a matter of time. This morning I heard her telling Lainey to wake up because Katie had to go potty! Who knows, maybe Katie will be the one to train Lainey?!? Lainey is at least now willing to sit on the potty, which is a definite improvement over last month's wearing the potty bowl as a hat...
Brandon had his kindergarten assessment today and he did well. He had the usual vision, speech and hearing screenings and did pass all so it has once again been confirmed that he can indeed hear me, he just tunes me out. He had a good time sharing what he has learned regarding counting, colors, shapes using scissors. They asked him if he had any questions for them when he was finished and he did have one. He wanted to know if there was an art table in kindergarten like he has in preschool. He was very happy to learn he will have an art class instead of just a table! It went very well and he is looking forward to starting this fall.
There is a set of twin girls in his class and Brandon had his assessment at the same time as them. When he came back to the office, the first thing he told me was there were twins in there, Mommy and they aren't 'dentical, either! That made me laugh because the ladies in the office had thought those girls were identical but they aren't and Brandon and I could tell they were fraternal. Perhaps he is used to explaining Katie and Lainey are very different to the people who ask us while we are out and about. When our girls were little, he would tell people who asked us questions, "yes they're twins and no they're not 'dentical." Guess he heard those alot!
