Peacefully Sleeping and Resting in Peace

We had such a jam packed activity filled weekend when we were up in Akron last week! The kids had such a good time at dinner with Uncle Mike and Aunt Dee and sleeping in their special beds at Papa Mike and NanaBo's. Brandon loves his bunkbed and is totally convinced it was purchased for his exclusive use. The girls were very proud to share the twin bed in the master bedroom - Lainey kept pointing out it was a big bed as she was falling asleep.

Peacefully Sleeping
While the kiddos spent Saturday playing with their Daddy, Papa and Uncle Mike, we ladies once again headed up to the Sheraton for a shower. The occasion this time was Dee's baby shower! It is such a pretty setting, being able to see the water on three sides and of course the food. Did I mention the food? Yum! Dee received lots of airplane and boat inspired baby apparel and other fun gifties. It was so fun to throw a shower for her. I loved finally being able to serve as the list wench! Can't wait to meet Baby Andy!

Sunday we headed up to see Mom and Don and the kids enjoyed playing with the train set up there. Funny how everyone seems to have a train set and each is a bit different so each is very exciting to play with. Mike and Dee caught up with us there and we all visited with Grandma Irene and Grandpa George before heading off to see Grandma Libby (aka Sugarplum) at Aunt Melanie's. Aunt Mel doesn't have a train set, but she has a cat and a dog (even better!) and lots of food. The kids had a great time and it was so nice to be able to visit with everyone. On the way out of town, we showed Brandon some of the local sites: Brian's high school, my high school, mom's elementary school, my first house and Grandpa Andy's high school. Brandon is very into seeing where we went to school as he prepares to start a new school next fall.

While we were visiting at Mom's, Brian went to see his grandmother's grave for the first time.

Resting in Peace

Our last stop on the way home was to see Grandpa Andy. We also took pix of his parent's headstone, a few rows over.

After a weekend like this, I bet Papa Mike and NanaBo slept peacefully (and for a long time!) as well!!
